What will the 2027 raise cost me?

It depends on your crew size, hours, and the new wage. The calculator above multiplies workers, weekly hours, and the raise per hour, then adds the employer payroll tax percentage you enter. Type in your own numbers to see the cost per week, month, and year.

Which states raise wages on January 1, 2027?

Several states and cities adjust their minimum wage on January 1 each year, and many tie the change to inflation. The final 2027 amounts are usually announced in the fall. This page does not list them, so check your state labor department for the official number and enter it as the new wage.

Does payroll tax go up too?

Employer payroll taxes are mostly a percentage of wages, so they rise along with the raise even though the tax rates themselves stay the same. The calculator adds your payroll tax percentage to the extra wages so you see the full cost.

How this works

The calculator multiplies workers, weekly hours and the raise per hour, then adds the employer payroll tax percentage you entered. Weekly cost is stretched to a month and a year using the assumptions below.
